Changelog

Shipped improvements and fixes, grouped by platform.

Version 3.4.7

October 17, 2026

Changes for WebiOS

Added

A smoother first bank sync

  • After you connect a bank, a short setup screen brings in your full history and checks every balance before you see your accounts, so numbers and charts don't shift as data arrives.
  • Keep using the app anytime with Continue in the background.

Fixed

Correct balances for newly connected banks

  • Fixed account balances that could be overstated when a bank sent older history just after connecting.
  • Bank connections recover on their own when the bank updates data mid-sync, instead of stopping with an error.

Version 3.4.6

October 8, 2026

Changes for WebiOS

Fixed

Accurate budget alerts

  • Spending that lands exactly on a category budget now says the budget is fully used instead of over budget.

Version 3.4.5

October 5, 2026

Changes for WebiOS

Fixed

Notifications at a sensible hour

  • Daily budget alerts now arrive in the morning instead of overnight, and dollar amounts in alerts show commas, like $2,192.63.
  • Upcoming-payment reminders now arrive once, the day before a payment is due, instead of days ahead plus a second alert on iPhone.

Analytics that agrees with itself

  • Early in the month, Analytics no longer shows conflicting projections. Month-end estimates now follow how your past months usually finish, so bills paid at the start of the month aren't counted several times over.
  • "Spending more or less than usual" and Biggest Changes now compare against the same point in past months instead of whole months.

Version 3.4.4

October 3, 2026

Changes for WebiOS

Fixed

No more duplicate Uncategorized category

  • Deposits the app can't match to a category now go to Other Income for you to review, instead of a second "Uncategorized" category that showed up in category lists but not on the Categories page. Existing deposits are moved to Other Income automatically.

Version 3.4.3

October 3, 2026

Changes for WebiOS

Fixed

Price alerts open the charge

  • Tapping a “went up” alert for a recurring bill or subscription now opens the charge that went up, instead of just the transactions list.

Version 3.4.2

October 2, 2026

Changes for WebiOS

New

Add when you got a home or car

  • When you add a home, vehicle, or other asset, you can enter when you got it and what you paid, so your net worth history starts there.

Fixed

A clearer net worth chart

  • When you add a home, car, or loan that has no history yet, the net worth chart now keeps showing how your other accounts have moved, instead of flattening into a line at the bottom.

Version 3.4.1

October 2, 2026

Changes for Web

Fixed

Readable platform labels

  • Web and iOS labels on the changelog now follow light and dark appearance so they stay easy to read.

Version 3.4.0

October 2, 2026

Changes for WebiOS

New

Track your home, car, and other assets

  • Add a home, vehicle, or other asset with what it's worth today, and it counts toward your net worth.
  • Record a new value whenever it changes. Each account keeps a value history, so you can see how it has moved.
  • Manual investment accounts can be updated the same way, with Update value.

Ask your partner about a transaction

  • On any transaction from a shared account, tap Ask to send your partner a quick question, like what a purchase was for.
  • They get a notification, answer right from the transaction, and you're notified when they reply.

Fixed

Investment balances stay up to date

  • Connected brokerage and retirement accounts now show the value your institution reports on every sync, instead of staying at the amount from the day you connected them. Net worth and savings goals that use these accounts update with them.

Changes for iOS

New

Lock the app with Face ID

  • Turn on Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode in Settings → Preferences to require it when you open Budgeteer Pro on your iPhone.
  • Your balances are hidden in the app switcher while the lock is on.

Version 3.3.10

October 1, 2026

Changes for Web

Improved

Cleaner empty pages

  • Empty pages and lists on the web—Savings, Debt, Recurring, Transactions, Review and more—now show their message cleanly without an extra box.

Easier rule creation

  • When adding a rule in Review, the match type and category now open right inside the form, and you can search categories to find the right one quickly.

Changes for WebiOS

Fixed

Stronger privacy between household members

  • Private accounts stay private everywhere: imports can no longer add transactions to another member's private account, and your data export no longer includes savings goals tied to someone else's private account.
  • View-only members can no longer connect, finish setting up, or disconnect bank connections. They can still refresh them.
  • Spreadsheet exports open safely: descriptions, names, and tags that look like formulas are saved as plain text.

Earlier bank reconnect alerts

  • You're now alerted as soon as your bank asks you to sign in again, instead of after the next sync fails.
  • A bank connection that is about to expire stays flagged until you reconnect it.
  • If you turn bank sync alerts on later, you'll still hear about a connection that needs attention.

Automatic account checks for new households

  • New households now get automatic account checks and monthly records from day one, the same as everyone else, instead of the old manual month-close steps.

Improved

Easier-to-read payment reminders

  • Upcoming payment reminders now show the date as month/day/year, like 09/28/2026.

Changes for iOS

Fixed

Payment reminders open Recurring

  • Tapping an upcoming payment reminder now opens your recurring payments instead of doing nothing.

Improved

A refreshed Contact & Support

  • Contact & Support has a cleaner look: pick bug, feedback, or question, and the prompts adapt to what you're sending.
  • Diagnostics now show exactly what's shared right beside the switch, and a clear confirmation appears once your message is sent.
  • Close buttons on forms now use the new glass style.

Version 3.3.9

September 30, 2026

Changes for Web

Fixed

Sharper product screenshots

  • Product screenshots on the website no longer look blurry before you open them full size.

Changes for WebiOS

New

Budgeteer Pro for iPhone is on the App Store

  • Download Budgeteer Pro for iPhone from the App Store and sign in with the same account you use on the web.
  • Premium is available in the iPhone app too, and one subscription covers your household on the web and iPhone.
  • The website now links straight to the App Store, and iPhone visitors can open the app from Safari on any page.

Version 3.3.8

September 24, 2026

Changes for iOS

Improved

Smoother statement details

  • Tapping "Latest statement" on a credit card now opens and closes the details smoothly instead of snapping.

Version 3.3.7

September 24, 2026

Changes for WebiOS

Fixed

Budget alerts open the right category

  • Tapping "View budget" on a budget alert now opens the category it's about and scrolls it into view, instead of stopping at the top of Categories.

Version 3.3.6

September 23, 2026

Changes for WebiOS

Fixed

Linked recurring transactions pick up the category

  • Linking an uncategorized transaction to a recurring bill or subscription now gives it that recurring item's category. Categories you already chose are left as they are.

Version 3.3.5

September 23, 2026

Changes for WebiOS

Fixed

Keep your place when converting transfers

  • Converting a transfer to a regular transaction, or marking a transaction as a transfer, keeps it open so you can keep editing right away.
  • On the web, choose Mark as transfer from the type menu to turn a transaction into a transfer or payment. Choosing the transfer type used to fail when you saved.

Link a transfer to its other account

  • After marking a transaction as a transfer, choose the account on the other side. Pick a matching transaction there to link the two, or, for an account you track manually, create the matching entry.

Changes for iOS

Fixed

Search stays put

  • Your search stays in place after you edit, convert, or delete a transaction, or pull to refresh, so older matches no longer disappear.

Clearer account setup steps

  • While adding a manual account during setup, the Next button now sits in the Getting Started card instead of floating over the Add Account and Cancel buttons.

Version 3.3.4

September 23, 2026

Changes for WebiOS

Improved

Move through setup at your pace

  • Use Skip to move to the next step, or the back and forward arrows to explore the guide at your pace. Close saves your place so you can resume later.
  • Tour controls stay available while filling out setup forms, and your unsaved entries remain intact.
  • A dimmed background and gently animated outline make guided controls easier to spot. Reduce Motion keeps the highlight still.

Finish setup with your plan in view

  • Set a category budget before the final Dashboard step, so you can see your plan come together.

Cleaner Review page

  • Removed the redundant Close the month card from Review; month-end processing happens automatically.

Changes for iOS

Fixed

Closing forms

  • Fixed a crash that could occur when swiping a form closed with the keyboard open, including during the setup walkthrough.

Smoother Analytics month changes

  • Return to a month you already viewed without a flashing updating indicator. New months still show when their data is loading.

Cleaner Cash Flow totals

  • The Income, Spent, and Kept totals in Where money moved now sit flush in their card, without a stray rounded background.

Improved

Get started sooner

  • Go straight to the getting-started guide after creating your account, without a second introduction slideshow.

Simpler first account setup

  • The empty Accounts page has a cleaner layout with one + button to add your first account, without duplicate buttons in the page or setup guide.

Clearer setup guidance

  • Follow each field when adding a manual account, use Next to accept a zero balance, and save as soon as the required information is ready.
  • The empty Transactions page uses a simpler layout and the + button, without duplicate add buttons in the page and guide.
  • Review shows a simple “Nothing to review” message when empty, and its guide sits lower to leave the top content visible.
  • After saving a category budget, use Continue to Dashboard to move directly to the final guide step.
  • Empty Accounts and Transactions pages now show simpler icons without colored backgrounds.

Clearer balance changes

  • The Cash Flow balance chart now adjusts its vertical scale to your actual and projected balances, making changes throughout the month easier to see.

Better-fitting Analytics charts

  • Income versus spending now uses a tighter scale that keeps the Net line visible without leaving a large empty area below the bars.

Version 3.3.3

September 20, 2026

Changes for Web

Improved

Cleaner page headers

  • Use the global + menu to add transactions, accounts, categories, and debts, with duplicate Add buttons removed from those page headers.
  • The notification bell now stays at the far right of the page header across pages.
  • The Transactions download button now uses a simpler icon with a hover animation and a tooltip explaining that it downloads loaded transactions.
  • Turning Bulk Edit on or off keeps transaction rows in place while selection circles appear or disappear.

Clearer transaction types

  • Distinct, simpler icons make income, expenses, refunds, transfers, and credit card payments easier to recognize when editing a transaction.

Pause and resume transaction entry

  • Collapse a desktop transaction panel and use Resume to continue with your unsaved entries intact. Save and Cancel remain separate actions; temporary entries last until you leave or refresh the page.
  • Transaction collapse controls now live inside the panel, and Categories no longer has a redundant header toggle. Transfer and payment editing now includes Cancel.

Version 3.3.2

September 19, 2026

Changes for WebiOS

Fixed

Bank sync

  • Fixed an issue where a $0 bank transaction, such as a card verification, could stop new transactions from syncing for that bank connection. Syncing resumes on its own; no action is needed.

Version 3.3.1

September 17, 2026

Changes for iOS

Fixed

Sign in with Apple name

  • Signing up with Sign in with Apple now keeps the name you share with Apple, so your profile and household are no longer labeled with a private relay email address.
  • If you chose Hide My Email and have no name on file, your household is now called “My Budget” instead of showing the relay address. You can rename it any time in Settings.

Account transaction scrolling

  • Fixed an intermittent slowdown that could make account transaction scrolling stutter after opening the app.
  • Reduced repeated work while viewing an account’s transactions.

Version 3.3.0

September 17, 2026

Changes for Web

Improved

Account warnings lead to Review

  • Open an account warning to see what needs a look in Review.

Fixed

Clearer loan balance import errors

  • When pasted loan history contains extra text or a malformed row, see which line needs fixing and correct it without losing your pasted balances.
  • If the current loan balance has no statement date, the import explains how to save it first. It also identifies rows that are not older than your saved balance date.

Changes for WebiOS

Improved

Quieter automatic account checks

  • Healthy connected accounts no longer show routine balance-check badges.
  • Account differences get time to settle before they appear in Review. Bank connections that need reconnecting still appear right away.

Changes for iOS

Fixed

Smoother welcome screen

  • The welcome slideshow fades into the edges of your screen, with a cleaner layout and no preview caption or pause button.

Version 3.2.1

September 17, 2026

Changes for WebiOS

Fixed

Net worth history goes back further

  • Your net worth chart now shows the whole period you pick, back to your oldest transactions and recorded balances, even when a loan or mortgage has no balance for the earlier part of it.
  • When an account is missing a balance for part of the period, the solid line pauses there and a dashed line shows the accounts that do have history. A note names the missing account and when full history starts.
  • The change shown for a period compares the same accounts at both ends, so a loan appearing partway through no longer looks like a sudden loss.

Faster account details

  • Opening an account you have already viewed shows its transactions and balance chart right away instead of reloading, and switching between accounts no longer flashes a loading state.
  • Transactions you scrolled to earlier stay loaded when you come back to that account.
  • On iOS, rapidly opening and closing statement details no longer overlaps nearby cards or repeatedly replaces loaded details with a loading indicator.

Changed

Latest statement row for credit cards

  • The Latest statement section now starts collapsed and expands in place when you tap it, so the account page no longer shifts while it loads.
  • When statement details are missing, the section explains whether your bank has not provided them yet or the last refresh could not update them.

Sync now feedback

  • Tapping Sync now within a minute of the last sync tells you when to try again instead of reporting a new sync.

Changes for iOS

Fixed

Clearer recurring calendar

  • Browse expected payments and income with clearer calendar controls, readable dates, and consistent amount formatting. Calendar days stay visible, including the first day of the month.
  • Move between months with smooth transitions, and reopen the calendar without waiting for already loaded payments and income.

Version 3.2.0

September 16, 2026

Changes for Web

Improved

Release notes by platform

  • Browse each release in Web, Web and iOS, or iOS groups, with changes collected under a single set of platform labels.

Changes for WebiOS

Changed

Account checks without a monthly chore

  • Your accounts are checked in the background. Review shows specific problems that need a look, while monthly records update automatically.
  • Edit older activity without reopening a month. Late bank updates and corrections create updated monthly records.

More detail for tips and loan payments

  • See an estimated tip on eligible restaurant purchases, then confirm, correct, or remove it using your receipt. Tips stay included in the total.
  • Record principal, interest, escrow, and fees from a loan statement, and import dated balances to extend your loan history.

Clearer net worth history

  • See one net worth total that includes your loans and mortgage. Tap the info button to learn about available history.

Changes for iOS

  • Review balance differences when they appear, or enter a statement balance for accounts that need a manual check.
  • Browse checked accounts whenever you want, and seal the month when you are ready.

Guided setup

  • Follow setup from your first account through transactions, categories, recurring payments, and savings. Resume where you left off or skip a step until later.

Recurring calendar

  • See upcoming recurring payments and income on a calendar. Pause, archive, or resume tracking while keeping past activity. These controls do not cancel payments with your bank or provider.

Savings funding targets

  • Set weekly, monthly, or yearly targets for a savings goal. Choose to refill a balance or set aside new savings, and preview how a contribution affects the amount still needed.

Credit-card statement details

  • See available statement balances, due dates, and minimum payments. When enough recent activity is available, see an estimate of the statement balance remaining after posted payments.

Improved

A clearer notification inbox

  • Find recent alerts in date groups, with clearer unread cards and room to read the full message.
  • Open related pages, mark alerts read, or clear them directly from each card. Mark all read in one tap, or confirm clearing read alerts together.
  • Enjoy smoother read and clear transitions, with support for larger text and Reduce Motion.

A preview before you get started

  • Explore example budgets, top spending categories, and savings goals in a welcome slideshow before creating an account.
  • Pause the slideshow or choose a preview, then create an account or sign in. The welcome screen follows your light or dark appearance.

Changed

Simpler sign-in and membership on iOS

  • Sign in with Apple takes you straight into the app. You are no longer asked to type your name after Apple signs you in.
  • Access & Membership now shows your Premium membership and plan options only. Codes are no longer entered in the app; membership redeemed on the website still applies to the app.

Fixed

Join your household

  • Accept your household invitation directly after signing in, even when you do not have a budget yet.
  • Open the shared budget after accepting, retry if the connection is interrupted, and return to the same household the next time you open the app.

Consistent money amounts

  • Money coming in is green, including refunds and reimbursements. Money going out uses parentheses and the normal text color across Dashboard, transactions, recurring payments, and savings activity.
  • See the same amount convention in cash-flow forecasts and Review, with warning colors reserved for amounts that need attention.

Clearer net-worth trends

  • Accounts now shows one net-worth trend with a scale suited to its balances and dollar change over the available history.
  • When earlier loan balances are unavailable, keep seeing your other accounts as a clearly labeled partial total. Your current net worth still includes every account.

Profile and data

  • Upload a profile picture, update your name and email, manage sign-in methods, and export your budget data from Profile.
  • Start account deletion from the app, with a 30-day grace period and a way to cancel it.

Imports

  • See CSV import problems in the app with clearer validation details, partial-import results, and a direct way to try another file.

Improved

Performance

  • Made the app's first load and common workflows faster by loading less up front and improving data requests.

CSV imports

  • Recognize more common spreadsheet column names automatically, including openingBalance, creditLimit, and transactionDate.

Fixed

Imports and transfers

  • Fixed import errors only appearing in the browser console instead of the app.
  • Fixed failed imports not appearing in import history or leaving you without an easy way to upload another file.
  • Fixed transfer account selection and date-picker inconsistencies.
