Books that check themselves against your bank

Budgeteer Pro keeps checking each connected bank and credit card account's recorded activity against the balance your bank reports. When something doesn't add up, it tells you exactly what needs a look. There's no monthly chore to remember.

Balances checked in the background

After each bank update, the posted activity in Budgeteer Pro is compared with the balance your bank reports. A difference is raised only when it holds up across fresh bank updates, so a timing gap doesn't set off an alarm.

Specific issues, not vague warnings

Review lists what needs a look: a balance that doesn't match, a payment that has stayed pending too long, a charge your bank changed after posting, an expected bill that hasn't shown up, or a bank that needs reconnecting.

Quiet when everything matches

Healthy accounts don't get a badge. An account that's off shows the amount it's off by, and a broken connection shows a reconnect prompt. Either one takes you straight to the fix.

Nothing to lock or reopen

There's no month to seal. Fix older activity directly, and the checks run again as late bank updates and corrections arrive.

A practical example

Your bank reports $2,410.18 for checking, but the activity recorded in Budgeteer Pro adds up to $2,385.18. If the $25 difference is still there after fresh bank updates, Review shows it beside both amounts. A missing or repeated transaction is the usual cause, so check the activity before adding an adjustment.

No badges means nothing needs a look. An account that drifts from its bank balance shows the difference here.

Accuracy shouldn't depend on remembering a ritual. Connected accounts are checked continuously, and you only hear about the ones that need you.
