Features / Bank sync

Connect your banks once. Stay current without typing.

Premium connects supported U.S. financial institutions so transactions and balances arrive on their own, already sorted where your rules know the answer. New households get a 14-day Premium trial with no card required.

Read-only connections

Sign in with your bank or through Plaid, depending on the institution. Budgeteer Pro never receives or stores your bank password, and the connection can't move money.

Transactions arrive on their own

New activity imports automatically and is categorized by your rules, matched to recurring bills, and paired with transfers between your own accounts. Uncertain items wait in Review.

Reconnect alerts

When a bank asks you to sign in again, the account shows a reconnect prompt and Review lists it. You can also turn on sync-issue alerts in your notification settings.

Balances you can trust

Connected balances update with each sync, and automatic account checks compare them with your recorded activity, so a missing or duplicated transaction gets caught.

A practical example

Connect a checking account and a credit card. A $78 grocery purchase arrives on its own and files under Groceries by your rule. The card payment from checking is matched as a transfer, not counted as more spending. If the bank later asks you to sign in again, the account shows a reconnect prompt.

See the whole balance picture, then open an account to inspect the transactions behind it.

Bank sync is optional. Manual accounts and CSV imports stay free, and if you stop syncing, your existing accounts and transactions stay where they are.
